Birthday Celebrations with Flowers and Horses

October 5, 2017

Green Door Florist in Clontarf is celebrating its 5th year since Lilla Zelenák took ownership of the business in 2012.

To celebrate the Green Door will be preparing a range of typical Green Door rustic style flower favourites this Saturday, 7th October with all proceeds on the day going to My Lovely Horse Rescue.

Established over 18 years ago, Green door florist was taken over by long-term employee Zelenák in 2012, where she brought her quirky style of flower arranging to Dublin 3.

Last year Green Door Florist created an initiative called Second Chances where Lilla and her team made up small mixed bunches made from slightly lower quality flowers (known as A2 flowers) still pretty of course and displayed the flowers with no price tag, instead offering an honesty box for the customer to pay what they wanted. All the proceeds from the initiative were donated to the horse rescue. Both firm believers in that everything deserves a second chance Green Door and My Lovely Horse Rescue make the perfect partnership.

My Lovely Horse Rescue, set up in 2011 and run by volunteers is a not-for-profit organisation, in the Dublin and Leinster area. They rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Ireland's neglected, abandoned and abused horses, ponies and donkeys.

Their mission is to end the suffering of equines in Ireland. They believe that the three leading causes of suffering are lack of education and indiscriminate breeding along with outdated and un-enforced animal welfare laws.

Celebrate with Green Door Florist and help support the welfare of horses in Dublin, please drop into Green Door Florist, Clontarf this Saturday.
