How to Prepare for Your Wedding Flowers Consultation
To make the most of our time during our consultation, a little bit of preparation goes a long way. Here’s a few things that you might like to consider to help us get a good picture of what you have in mind:
What is your colour scheme? Coordinating flowers to the colours worn by key members of the wedding party is a big part of finding the right wedding flowers. Let us know if your wedding party is coordinating their colours and what palette you have chosen. If you can provide photos, show samples of fabrics, or links to similar colours, that will help to guide us.
Does the wedding have a theme? If not, think about what styles you are more drawn to. Here are a few ideas:
- Traditional
- Vintage glamour
- Meadow feel
- Freshly picked
- Colourful
- Romantic
- Elegant
- Simple
- Gothic
- Earthy
- Boho
- Rustic
What is your wedding venue? If it has a particular style, would you like flowers that blend with this style or stand out? Please provide pictures or a link to the venue.
What season are you getting married in? This is important as it will affect the type of flowers that are available.
Are there any particular flowers that hold meaning for you and your loved ones? Please bear in mind that the season will affect the availability of specific flowers, but we can discuss options with you to find a solution that you love.
What unique features can we incorporate to reflect you and your partner’s personalities? You may wish to use features that highlight your personal interests, hobbies, background, heritage, family interests, etc.
Please consider what type of arrangements you need and how many. Would you like flowers for just the reception, or for the ceremony as well? Here are some ideas:
- Bridal bouquet
- Bridesmaid bouquets
- Hair decorations
- Corsages
- Boutonnieres
- Ceremony flowers
- Pew end decorations
- Centrepieces for reception - top table & guest tables
- Cake decorations
- Unusual arrangements, eg flower arch, fireplace decorations, bar arrangements, hanging baskets, lanterns, wreaths.
Please try to give an idea of the shape and size of arrangements you require - this will help us to quote appropriately.
The following information is helpful to ensure your special day goes smoothly - church / venue details, date, access times and contact names for the church, venue and wedding coordinator.
An estimated budget will allow us to advise you on the best flowers and arrangements to suit your wedding and achieve the style you’re hoping for.
Sometimes it can be hard to put your desires into words, but a picture is worth a thousand words! Consider creating a mood board or collecting inspiration images to share with us. Bear in mind we may not be able to source any and every flower that you see in a photo online, as flowers are subject to availability due to seasonal constraints, but showing us your inspiration helps to illustrate the style you’re going for.
You could include images of; the wedding couple’s outfits, bridesmaid dresses, outfits of other key members of the wedding party, images of the venue, colour inspiration, and a range of flowers that you love . We’ll help you identify what’s in season and available around the date of your wedding to create your own personal style.
